The villa’s original structure dates back to the year 1500. It was restored to its present form around 1800. The most recent renovation took ten years and was completed in 2004. During this project, both buildings were modernised. All floors were anchored into the walls and subsequently cast in reinforced concrete. The entire electrical system (including satellite TV and internal telephone), the gas heating and the sanitary facilities date from this period and are certified. Marble, cotto/terracotta, parquet and graniglia were used for the floors, and white marble tiles for the bathrooms.

In the village (approx. 500 inhabitants), you will find all the amenities you need, including a post office, a bank, a grocery shop, an excellent pizzeria, a bar/café, a hairdresser and a small theatre. There is a large church, a beekeeper and an oil mill. The village is surrounded by green hills dotted with vineyards and olive groves, with unspoilt countryside offering endless opportunities for long walks. Nearby is Casciana Terme, with thermal baths renowned for their excellent restorative properties. Also just 3 km away is the medieval hamlet of Lari, with its castle and the small, famous Martelli pasta factory.


The property is situated 200 metres above sea level and offers spectacular views stretching from the Apuan Alps to the sea, across the beautiful park and out over the village square. Casciana Terme and Lari are easily accessible by train (Pontedera 20 km), by plane (Pisa Airport 30 km, Florence Airport 70 km) and by car (FI/PI/LI motorway, 12 km). The location is ideal for day trips, as it lies midway between Florence (approx. 70 km), Siena (approx. 85 km), San Gimignano (approx. 65 km), Volterra (approx. 45 km), Cecina (approx. 50 km), the Tyrrhenian coast (30 km), Livorno (30 km) and Versilia (45 km). It is a wine-growing region and offers a wealth of culinary delights.
